Make-up Education Team



After achieving a BA Honours Degree in Film & Theatre, Carla went on to accomplish a Certificate in Higher Education in Professional Make-up Design.  Almost a decade in the industry, Carla is an experienced, sought after Make-up Artist, whose portfolio is versatile, creative and polished.  Her make-up artistry and additional qualified skills in hair, nails and sunless spray tanning, have enabled her to work within various areas of the industry, both in the UK and internationally.  Carla has been fortunate to work with numerous well-known personalities and has collaborated with world renowned photographers, designers and production companies for clients such as: Vogue, Hunger Magazine, Harrods, Lancôme, Ted Baker, ASOS, QVC, London Fashion Week, Universal Music, ITV and Sky.  Carla is passionate about her craft and finds great pleasure in educating, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of make-up artists, here at The London School of Beauty and Make-up.


Jolanta graduated with Distinction from Delamar Academy in 2001, she then went on to work with MAC Cosmetics as a trainer and product specialist. Jolanta quickly developed a reputation within the industry and was snapped up by Smashbox as the counter manager at Debenhams. The counter quickly became the top performing Smashbox outlet in the UK, breaking all sales records and targets. In 2012 Jolanta became business manager  for Lancome in Debenhams Oxford Street, where the brand smashed target after target under her management. In 2014 Jolanta made the transition into teaching where she feels very at home teaching and inspiring the next generation of make-up artists.




Helen has over a decade of experience working in the industry.  Her versatile portfolio has led her to work for some of the biggest names in the business, highly established brands and production companies such as X-Factor, Virgin EMI Records, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Vodafone to name a few.  Specialising in Creative Fashion Shoots, Bridal and Special Effects, Helen who holds qualifications as a Professional Make-up Artist and Hairdresser, has had her work featured in editorials and commercial photo shoots for Good Housekeeping, Muscle & Fitness, Hungar TV and the Sunday Times.  Helen is passionate about education and providing a high level of skills and training for the next generation of hair and make-up artists.



Celebrity make-up artist Astrid Kearney has worked extensively within the fashion, film, television and music industry. Her talent and skills are sought after by industry professionals and her work has taken her to the chic streets of Paris and vibrant city of Hong Kong for high fashion editorials, to filming in Tunisia and working with celebrated actors at the Venice Film Festival and film premieres in London. Astrid specialises in beauty, especially project-based management for advertising, television and film. She also works as a consultant creating events for make-up brands and lectures at various renowned Academies both in London, Los Angeles and Europe. Her creative range is extensive, from feature documentaries to working with Vogue, Tatler, Conde Nast Traveller and ID Magazine. She has worked for Sienna Miller, Lenny Kravitz , Robbie Williams, Steven Spielberg and Daryl Hannah, to name a few with her creative vision and passion for make-up being her ultimate driving force.



Winning the award at the International Makeup Artist Magazine Show in New York (IMATS) and the endorsements received from top Makeup Professionals such as Kabuki Magic, as a unique talent to watch out for, brought Sara to London, to be in one of the worlds reference cities. Her creative work is inspired by all kinds of art, but especially architecture & cinema. Work from the likes of Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry and the work of cinema directors David Lynch, David Chronenberg, Tim Burton just to name a few, have a huge impact on her vision. Sara has a degree in Graphic Design, took drawing classes at the National Society of Beaux Arts (Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, SNBA) and went to Medicine School where she attended Anatomy classes. Sara always held a fascination with the human body as an object of study and inspiration.

Later on studied Makeup and Makeup effects in Los Angels, London, Spain and Portugal. Sara has been working mostly in the film industry and was nominated for Best Makeup at the Sophia Awards 2014 for the Portuguese Cinema Academy. Sara also has been working in advertising, red carpet events, photography, video-clips with celebrities like, Idris Elba, Ewan Mcgregor, Sadie Frost, Tinie Tempah, Charlene White, Noel Fieldings, Sally Philips, Kate Dickie, Yinka Shonibare, Adil Hussain.



Kym has been a make-up artist for over 20 years.  Her formidable style has transformed her into an established name in the industry, having worked with artists and models such as P. Diddy, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Rhianna, Pixie Lotte, Alicia Keys, Alesha Dixon, Macy Gray, Toni Braxton, Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Erin O’ Conner and for publications such as Arise, Elle, Volt, ID, Esquire, 1883, Times Fashion, Bolz, Tatler, Russian Bazaar, Harpers Bazaar, Chanel Magazine.



Jay has been a hairdresser throughout her career and a make-up artist for over 11 years.  Fashion is her passion.  Jay works in film, theatre, commercial, fashion, portfolio and editorial and is a strong believer in passing on her incredibly talent and creative skills to the next generation of make-up artists, booking students from the school as her assistants as often as possible.   Jay regularly has work published in magazines such as Hello, Grazia, Dmag, Heat, Love,Vogue Online, and Vice, to name but a few. She has a vast celebrity client base as well as her private client list.




Sandro is an internationally acclaimed photographer and master of his art.  Specialising in beauty and high fashion portrait photography, his work has appeared in books and exhibitions, as well as numerous magazines and advertising campaigns.  His clients include L’Oreal, Dior, Rimmel, Ralph Lauren Eyewear, Philip Treacy, Elle Magazine, British, Italian, Chinese and Russian Vogues, Tatler, I-D and Sunday Times Style amongst others.
